I have recently learned from other forums that apparently patients are only getting a thirty day supply at their face to face consult with no refills. With my upcoming 7 hour drive to my consult in Florida I to am concerned that this
will happen to me as well. I am somewhat perplexed at the recent course of action after being given an email
stating that upon leaving the f2f I would have a script with the original script and two refills. Instead I
have learned (after pre paying and scheduling) that the doctor will call every month to refill the script for an
additional cost (120.00). As a layman I get that we should be thankful for what we get right, however are we to ask, beg, plead, promise the doctor to give us refills or "comply" with these "new" procedures? Understanding my
concern would be appreciated, and if anyone has had a different experience with f2f I would like to know.

Let me correct the record: The Doctors make policy.. not the companies like OTN.  Most DO GIVE refills, however; it is dependent soley
on the physician and most are not on the scripts but rather in 30 days with a telephone follow up. Per our WEB SITE:

"What is the cost for these services?

The charge for the review of your medical records and the face to face consultation is $289.00, the charge for subsequent quarterly telephone consultations will vary but we are working on a discount of $189.00. For these subsequent scripts, you also pay for the delivery charges for the script according to the price lists. (Please note depending on the Dr there my be additional charges for telephone refills).

Payment alternatives are available for you to choose from (see payment alternatives).
"

The new law is what dictates how most policy is made and I suggest speaking in detail to the Dr while at the appointment.
I will be happy to answer any other questions via phone or email.

I think most of the dissapointment comes with misunderstanding of the law and how this is a very serious industry.

My experience with OTN is such that I never even tried anyone else. I am a Veterinarian
with 3 lumber and 3 cervical disc herniations from an accident. My reason for using OTN
was originally for privacy reasons as I live in a small town. Mike will do anything....try anything...to get us what we need.....But folks,,,,he can't be expected
to do it for free. Nor are the doctors going to do it for free. I think this way of face to face is a total pain in the butt but it keeps everyone legal...
without that you can be busted for illeagal possesion of schedule II drugs...so can the doctors. If you have serious pain management problems.....
a face to face gives the doctor more lattitude and justification for his/her scripts. But. as a doctor I can tell you if you take more than 60mg a day of
Norco you need to stop.
There are more powerful patches to help you....As for F2F...it's a business....not any different then any other business...you pay for what you want.
My insurance covers my doctor visits and medication..but I have to pay in advance and then submit my receipts. This is as good as it's gonna get so stop stressing.

I am not sure I agree... I feel the doctors are using the law to squeeze more money out of patients with chronic pain. I FLEW to FL from Nebraska to do the F2F, was given a script with NO refills and the doctor is now ignoring my requests for refills. I think the F2F is a major ripoff based on my experiences as I shelled out a lot of money and time to comply with the new method, only to be ignored after the doctor got PAID!!!

Mike says he will call, and has been telling me that for a week... and I only talked to him since my refill request 2 weeks ago. My emails are going unanswered and when I do get a reply it is a promise to call... which never comes.

I doubt I will ever see the refills I would have gotten under the old method... DS was supposed to be cheaper, and it was... this new F2F stuff is a flat out rip off!

Well with factual confidence you are wrong. First I did reply and told you I would let you know when I hear more.. I have not heard more
so what is there for me to say. The Dr's are not the ones that passed the law on the Face2Face requirement. The Dr's did not put refills
on your script because of the fact you live in NE and he is in FL.. that is the law... not sure how else to answer that for you? The Dr was
paid for your consult and you had the appointment and your script. He is not paid for refills until they are processed..
so you received what you paid for. On another hand it is ME that gets all the grief from people who, most of the time; are simply
ill-informed and would like things to be the way they wish rather than the way the law dictates. So.. NO ONE is going to make it
simpler except for the people in elected office.
Lastly.. I never said it was cheaper for Face2Face and I dont dictate the prices. Your previous Dr provided refills under direct scritp
based on the PREVIOUS rule of law. So.. rather than be angry and mad at  us and the Dr call your congressman and Senator
to tell them how unhappy you are IF they voted for this change.  I dont like this new way either! We earn less (yes we do) and takes
about 3 times the work ! That is why costs go up!

This is not the forum for back and forth communication with me. That is what the help desk is for, however; to answer your question...

YOU ASKED ME TO SEE ABOUT OUR DR IN LAS VEGAS and to use the money as a credit towards the appointment. I DID THEN YOU
WANTED CERTAIN ASSURANCES which I could not speculate on.

If you want to visit another Dr then it is simple. If not then a refund will be processed.

You charged me on June 11th, I dont have the refill, I dont have a new appointment to see another doctor at the full face to face fee
YOU WILL NEED TO PAY THE FULL FEE TO SEE A NEW DR. I DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER FEES WITH THE DRS.and I dont have a refund! BECAUSE YOU CHOOSE TO WAIT TO GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH ANOTHER DR? Your complaining about your job and how much work you do is unprofessional. I DONT RECALL COMPLAINING? I EXPLAINED THAT SOME
CUSTOMERS/PATIENTS DO NOT REALIZE THAT I DO NOT MAKE DECISIONS ON REFILLS ETC AS IT IS DICTATED BY LAW AND POLICY
.
Quit if you dont like it. YOU MUST HAS MISININTERPRETED MY COMMUNICATION?.. I on the other hand have no choice but to wait you out and hope you will come around to help me. MY POINT EXACTLY. I HAVE HELPED YOU. IT IS UP TO YOU TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND I HAVE EXPLAINED THAT IT IS UNETHICAL AND IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO FORCAST RESULTS PRIOR TO AN APPOINTMENT. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PROCEED ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LET ME KNOW.. SO WHEN YOU SAY TO HELP YOU .. WHAT ELSE MAY YOU BE REFERRING TO? I see you helping lots of other folks who post rave reviews about how good your service is... why cant I say the same? MEMBERS POST REVIEWS UNSOLICITED AND THE SERVICE IS PRIOR TO THE REVIEW?I cant because its not there for me... and I highly doubt it will be, so why havent you refunded my money or gotten me a new appointment. And why is it taking WEEKS to get answers???? WHAT ANSWERS? IF YOU WANT THE APPOINTMENT IN LV JUST LET ME KNOW?

I wish it was as easy to get responses via email and over the phone... but I am glad I have your attention. This will be the last message I post here, but notice I deleted them as soon as you responded.
I just submitted a new request for an appointment in LV. I will eat every word I wrote if it works out the way I am looking for.

I have my phone in my pocket. Thanks for making me a priority today... I truly appreciate and will report what happens.

In all honesty, the first trip was a piece of cake... to anyone reading my drama. The FL doctor was easy to talk to and was as helpful as he could be.

The old days are gone forever. People need to think of it as they were going to a regular (PAIN CLINIC)or a regular Doc. I never got pain meds from my regular Doc with refills. They have to document monthly that the patient is still alive and doing ok or they are get in trouble if a patient goes south. Most of them also require new verified MRIs or Scans. People need to get used to the Pain Clinic way of doing things. I don`t like it but that is the way it is and is going to be from now on.

I am trying to find out if there is a doctor in Washington that will see me f2f - I think you have one in Oregon, or I think you do.  Let me know so I can make a decision here.  My regular physician thinks that giving me muscle relaxers will alleviate the daily pain from a herniated disc and nerve damage - which has been diagnosed by a neuro-surgeon!!!! Anyway, I deviate from my original question - any services in Washington state?

Hello, I just joined and am hoping that i understand things correctly.  I paid and sent the proper materials via fax and hoping that i will be able to get an appointment with a doctor in or close to NY City?  Does anyone think that this will be an issue or have any insights.
